One-habit tracker
One habit, made tiny, attached to something you already do. Goes with The One-Habit Rule: Why One New Habit Beats Five.
1 Pick the one
Not the one you feel guiltiest about: the one that would make other things easier. Tap an idea or write your own.
2 Make it tiny
Shrink it until you could do it on your worst day. It should take two minutes or less.
- Exercise for thirty minutes → put on my running shoes
- Read every night → read one page
- Meditate → take three slow breaths
3 Attach it to something you already do
Pick a moment that happens at the same point every day, right before the new habit would fit. Specific beats fuzzy: "after I put my plate in the dishwasher," not "after lunch."
Write this on a sticky note and put it where the anchor happens.
4 Track it for 30 days
Tap a day when you've done it, even just the tiny version. Missing one day is fine. The only rule: never miss twice.
You missed yesterday. That's fine, but today counts double: do the tiny version, no matter what.
Ready for the next one?
There's no magic day count. Move on when this test passes: would it feel odd not to do it?
